The lovely Katy from KatyKicker has tagged me to take part in a Blogger Q&A. These questions and answers should give you a bit more of an insight into who I am!
When was the last time you cried?
I cry so easily! I recently cried when I handed in my notice to leave my job. I felt so sad because I love the job and the people I work with but it’s time to let new opportunities expand! I also cry at really random things like children singing in assemblies, or at happy endings in films. I cried when I saw The Greatest Showman the other week. I’m just a mess!
If you were another person, would you be a friend of yourself?
Yes. I try really hard to be a good friend, to be kind and supportive. I also think I’m quite funny! I would really make myself laugh.
Do you use sarcasm a lot?
Haha! Yes, I do. Although, I do use it a lot less than I used to.
What’s the first thing you notice about people?
Their facial expression and body language.
Scary movie or happy endings?
Definitely happy endings. I am a total wuss when it comes to scary movies and every little thing makes me jump! My friends asked me to go to a scary farm thing last Halloween and the video trailer scared the whatsit out of me so much! There is NO way I could have gone to the actual thing!
Favourite smells?
A random fact about me is that I have a super sensitive sense of smell. I can smell things that no-one else can smell! It can be really annoying if I am near a horrible smell, so much so that I carry essential oils around with me to smell in these situations! One of my most favourite smells is patchouli. I love it so much! I also love the smell of sun-cream because it reminds me of holidays. My favourite time of year is Christmas because of all the Christmassy smells that you get.
What’s the furthest you’ve ever been from home?
Up until 2017 it was America and Canada but in April 2017 we travelled to Mauritius for our honeymoon. It is an utterly beautiful place to go.
Do you have any special talents?
I have been able to use British Sign Language since I was a small child.
Where were you born?
Sunny Sussex by the Sea!
What are your hobbies?
I was a runner but I have lost my running mojo a little since my last marathon. Reading, sewing, knitting and I have just started aerial hooping, which I love.
What did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be a forensic pathologist or a defence lawyer. A little different to the teaching job I eventually did!
How many countries have you been to?
16- Spain (plus Balearic and Canary Islands), France, Portugal, Italy, Iceland, Denmark, Sweden, America, Canada, Turkey, Mauritius, Switzerland, Germany, Croatia, Greece, Egypt. I want to keep adding to this list! I have so many countries I still want to visit.
What was your favourite/worst subject at school?
My favourite subjects were English and Drama. I’m not sure about a worst subject because I really enjoyed school, perhaps physics as this was my lowest GCSE result. I still love learning now.
What is your favourite drink?
I really love Pepsi Max! I don’t drink it as much as I used to though.
What would you (or have you) named your children?
I haven’t got any children yet but have a dog called Luca and my cat was called Alan. I’m not sure about children’s names as yet because it is going to be a hard job to choose! I have taught so many children over the years and I’d like to choose names that either I haven’t come across or I’ve only had contact with minimally. Any suggestions welcome!
Who are some of your favourite YouTubers?
My friend Lucy Sheridan has some fab YouTube videos all on the topic of comparison and I love watching these. I have only just recently got into YouTube videos (I know, where have I been?!)
How many boyfriends have you had?
I have had 2 long-term boyfriends. I have been with my husband now for 13 and a half years! We met when I was 20.
Favourite memory from childhood?
This is so hard to choose! I think the holidays that we went on each year. We would return to Ibiza when we could afford it and I loved the Spanish sweets and ice lollies.
How would you describe your fashion sense?
A bit quirky maybe. I like things that are a little bit different, like patterned skirts and dresses or statement necklaces. I also love colours.
Tell us one of your bad habits!
I’m not very tidy. It’s just not my zone of genius!
I hope you’ve enjoyed this Blogger Q&A! What surprised you? Anything you already knew? Anything I didn’t mention that you now want to know?
