I’ve left it a while to write this post outlining my goals for 2018 because we can have all these goals at the beginning of January, sometimes in a post-Christmas slump or the height of the ‘new buzz’ of January and I wanted to reflect on my goals a little bit before sharing them here.
I wrote recently about my Word of the Year which I love to do. My word is Growth. I want to experience growth in so many different ways. I really want to grow in my own personal development, my spiritual development and also in my business. This year I’d also love to see this blog grow and get more readers, more engagement and more following.
On to what some of my personal goals are this year…
-
Read 50 books
Last year I managed 45 which I was really pleased with because, due to work and time constraints, I had only really got into it from about July onwards so I was really chuffed with how well I did. I want to start doing book reviews and sharing them on here. I’d love to know your recommendations.
-
exercise once a week
This is one of the goals I am reviewing because we are three weeks or so in and I haven’t done any formal form of exercise but I have been on a long walk each week. So I am saying to myself that even if this includes one big walk of an hour a week then that’s OK. I’d like to build in to some yoga and a bit of running.
-
regular meditation
Another goal of mine is to meditate more. Now just saying meditate more isn’t really very specific so I’ve broken that down into saying I will meditate for a minimum of five minutes every day, even if this is five minutes before I go to bed. I’ve got lots of guided meditations on my phone that I’ve downloaded and also some meditation apps that you can access for free. I’m trying to do 5 minutes every day because I know I feel better when I do. I’d love to extend this a bit more into definitely doing five minutes in the morning.

Home improvements
This year I have got lots of home improvements planned! This means money. So we are going to be saving hard and looking for ways to make some extra pennies. We’d like to get the double glazing done at the front of the house, we’d like to renovate our bathroom, decorate our bedroom and have half the money saved to be able to knock through the back kitchen wall and put some double doors in out to the garden. That is a 2019 job but we’d like half the money saved. (This does mean there will be before and after posts and tips on how to do these things as cheaply as possible!)

help more people
One of my goals this year is to be able to help more people. I decided that I was going to try and do more with my Facebook community and do Facebook lives around certain money topics so using some of my coaching skills and knowledge. I’ve come up with my plan for the for the rest of the year and I’m really excited to share it with everyone! A recent live video was around budgeting so if you want to catch that Facebook live then just come and join the group. There is also a Facebook live planned for this Sunday night (28th January 2018 at 8pm) all about setting goals which links are really nicely to this blog post! Come and join us! It would be great to have you.
I also have some blogging and business goals which I may share later with you.
So there are my personal goals for 2018. I’d love to know what your goals are. Drop me a comment, send me an email or even come and find me in the Facebook group.
